History & Aims

The Italian Circle of mid-Herts was formed in 1997 by two friends ( a teacher of Italian and one of her advanced students) and it is still developing through personal introductions and through the quality of the attractive programme of events which it provides.

The Italian Circle caters for anyone who is interested in the culture, art, music, history, cuisine or landscape of Italy. The Circle provides illustrated talks on all these subjects, in a monthly social gathering with Italian refreshments.

An annual event in the social life of the area since the start of the Circle is its popular Concert of Italian Music "la musica italiana", performed by talented professional musicians who have a love of classical Italian Music.

The Italian Ambassador is Patron of the Circle.

The Circle is managed by Officers and a Committee as follows :- Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, and an Hon. Auditor who are appointed or re-appointed at each Annual General Meeting, held in November.
